Here's the story behind Axel and his friends...
At the time, it was just an idea. A small sketch on the paper. Ideas often come and go. But this one was different. We knew it could be something more. Something impactful.
The idea originiated in 2018
In 2018, after watching a documentary about marine life, Bruna had the funniest dream about deep-sea animals. This led her to draw some characters on a sheet of paper that was forgotten at the bottom of her drawer. Almost three years later, in a conversation with Scott Glasgow, they decided to write a children's story about sustainability and friendship using those characters. That's how Axel and his friends were created!Â

Bruna Chixaro
Bruna ChÃxaro is a brazilian author and Human Rights lawyer, born and raised in Manaus, a city located in the heart of the Amazon region. She holds a Masters degree in Law (University of Fortaleza), with research focus on International Law.
Bruna is very passionate about literature, history and traveling the world, often independently. She has been to all continents, including Antarctica - her travel memoir to the frozen continent became Editora Valer's bestselling book Antártida in 2020. She is also the author of books Ana Bolena and Apátridas.

Scott Glasgow
Scott is a product leader and social innovator on a mission to make a positive difference. Currently, he's the co-founder at Fresho, pioneering a fully automated marketing assistant for Google Ads. He's also the founder of FinMango, a global non-profit focused on financial health.
His work has been used by Google Health, WHO, The World Bank, Harvard Research, USAID, and Verily. He's also published in the Journal of Health Education and has shared ideas on TEDx stages in Brazil and Togo.
Philosophy: In a complex world, simple wins.
